26 Aug Welcome to the 2017-2018 School Year!
Hello PUC TCA Scholars, and Families,
We are very excited for this school year. There are many great things that are happening at PUC TCA, and we are so glad that you are a big part of it. Our teachers are working very hard during the summer to get everything ready for our scholars. Many of them have been at different types of trainings and meetings to become better educators. This is so important for us here at PUC TCA, because we hold our teachers and staff to high standards. Given this important factor for our staff and teachers, we will be expecting the same from our scholars. There will be many times throughout the school year we will celebrate, but we will also be expecting our scholars to be the best they can be. You will be learning the expectations of a scholar and how we can help you become better at reading and math so you can be prepared for high school and ultimately for college success!
For our 7th and 8th grade scholars and families, welcome back! We are excited because our teachers and staff have been hard at work. In our 7th grade, we have Ms. Feldscher (science teacher), Ms. Ross (math teacher), Mrs. Mahtani (English teacher), Mr. Burnett (history teacher), Mr. Martin (drama teacher). ! In 8th grade, we have Ms. J. Lee (English teacher), Mr. Guerra (math teacher), Mr. Estep (history teacher), Ms. R. Lee (science teacher), and Mrs. Capa (art teacher). Ms. Rogel (PE teacher for all grades), Ms. Delgado, Ms. Williams (Inclusion specialists for all grades), Ms. Hernandez (scholar success center teacher in English and math for all grades), our wonderful inclusion assistants, and our amazing office staff. Scholars please be ready to become better at what you do, and let’s have FUN!
For our 6th grade scholars and families, we want to welcome you! As previously noted, we have done exciting things here at PUC TCA, and we are so happy that you are a part of it. Last year, we became a gold ribbon school and a received the Title 1 Academic Achievement Award. Our scholars have worked hard to become better readers and better mathematicians, aside from the rest of their academic duties. We have focus on making our scholars better readers and better at math. We have embedded a reading period that is strategically focused to make them better readers. In Math we have a program that our scholars will be staying twice a week after school and work on a math program. We started this last year with our 6th graders and we saw great results. We want our families to know that our intent is to make them better so they can be prepared for high school and college. Congratulations 6th grade scholars and families for choosing our school.
We look forward in working with our parents as our partners in their child’s education. Let’s have a great year!!
