25 Jun Students at PUC Achieve Charter School invited to end-of-the-year clothing drive
A unique celebration of the last day of classes for one school in Rochester took place Friday.
The PUC Achieve Charter School held a clothing fair, inviting students and their families to pick out as many items as they wanted, for free.
The charter school is for kids in grades five through eight, and many live in the poorest neighborhoods in Rochester.
“We want to be a hub for the neighborhood, as we are a neighborhood school,” said Tondra Collins, Principal at PUC Achieve Charter School. “Our primary function is to be an academic institution, but also be a bridge so our families are supported.”
The gently used clothing and shoes were donated by students at the College of Brockport.
The charter school’s families also donated.
