Dear PUC CALS Charter Middle School,

It is with great enthusiasm that I join the PUC community as Principal of PUC CALS Charter Middle School. I am a lifelong educator and look forward to serving our families. I have had the pleasure of serving our communities as a teacher’s assistant, teacher, and coordinator for over 15 years in the northeast San Fernando Valley and the last 5 years as an administrator and director in the northeast Los Angeles area.  I am the oldest of four siblings of immigrant parents and the first to go to college in my extended family. I am proud to have received my undergraduate degree at UC Santa Barbara in History and my Master’s degree in Administration from Cal State Northridge. Thus, it is through my personal and professional experiences that I have come to know how important it is for our students to receive a well-rounded quality education.

I believe that education is the great equalizer and that all students have the capacity to be successful and become active participants in shaping this world. I see the potential in each child for greatness and know that it is our duty to nurture and grow that potential. As educators, we are charged with safeguarding the dreams of our students and guiding them towards making them a reality. Ultimately, I became an educator in hopes of affording our students the same opportunities I received from my educational experiences. I am humbled to have the opportunity to do so here alongside of all you at PUC CALS Charter Middle School.

I look forward to collaborating with parents, students, teachers, school staff and our community as a whole. I am deeply honored to be entrusted, along with the PUC CALS Charter Middle School staff, with the great responsibility of being the stewards of every student’s education. I look forward to meeting and working with everyone in support of the school’s mission and vision. I am currently transitioning to this tremendous and exciting work and will make myself available to connect and/or virtually meet this summer as you may need by calling our school’s front office at (323) 254-4427 or email me directly at a.sanchez1@pucschools.org. I am very excited and honored to lead, serve, and partner with everyone in the coming school year. Hope you and your family are enjoying a safe and healthy summer.
