The latest charter school legislation, AB1316, limits high-quality public education opportunities for students and cuts funding for programs that serve low-income, minority, and at-risk students. The Northeast Valley Best Start has created a Social Resources Project community grant. The grant process requires any nonprofit organizations that apply to submit a proposal based on needed community resources. One of the organizations applying for the grant is the Versa-Style Dance Company (VS). VS was founded by Ms. Jackie Lopez, a former PUC dance teacher who was instrumental in creating the dance programs that we still have in our schools today.
