PUC Lakeview Charter High School named among the best in the nation in 2018!

U.S. News & World Report just named three high schools that are part of the PUC Schools (PUC) network of schools, among the top in California and the nation.

PUC Community Charter Early College High is the top high school in the San Fernando Valley and eighth best charter high school in L.A. Unified (and 76th best high school in the state), earning a gold medal.

PUC Lakeview Charter High School is in the top 6 percent of high schools and PUC eCALS (Early College Academy for Leaders and Scholars) was ranked among the top 15 percent of the 2,185 California high schools U.S. News and World Report analyzed.

“We come to school every day motivated by one goal: to make sure all of our students get the best and most rigorous education possible that will send them to college ready to succeed. We’re just doing the work that we believe will benefit our students and families, that will uplift our communities, so to be recognized for that is tremendously fulfilling,” said Adriana Abich, regional superintendent for PUC Schools.

U.S. News and World Report, which reviewed 20,548 high schools in the country, factors in several criteria including graduation rates, students’ performance on state tests, whether historically underserved students performed better than the state average, and college readiness based on Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate participation and performance.
